We all use Metallurgical Engineering Services, Inc. for mechanical testing, chemical analysis and verification of all our products. Metallurgical Engineering Services is a certified test lab with an accredited ISO 17025:2005 quality system. Manufacturers, fabricators and materials suppliers rely on Metallurgical Engineering Services to test their metals, composites and polymers in accordance with standards set forth by a number of organizations, including the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Petroleum Institute (API), American Welding Society (AWS), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), Federal, Military or Aerospace guidelines.
At Savage X Lacrosse we use MES to verify that our products are advertised, and to assure our customers that if we make materials or performance claims they are backed up by credible science. There is too much phony “technology” and marketing department fairy dust in lacrosse. Some of the tests performed are mechanical, metallurgical, chemical, environmental, and corrosion testing of metals. MES's mechanical test lab provides controlled tensile strength, compression, hardness (Rockwell, Brinell, Vickers, Knoop), impact resistance, friction resistance, 3 point bend, fatigue, shear, strain, and wear resistance.
During a product’s research and development phase we perform a variety of rigorous tests in our own factory to determine strength, impact resistance, continued wear, durability at temperature variances, etc. We also put equipment into the field in highly controlled testing situations with experienced lacrosse players. But for additional data using extremely advanced metallurgical analysis equipment, and for the sake of transparency to our customers, we go the extra step of employing a professional testing lab.
